Clear multi-user flags when a transaction was interrupted — for example after a crash or power cut — and Dimensions is showing a lock error.
⚠️ Warning: Check the following before clearing multi-user flags:
Ensure no other users are actively working in Dimensions. Click System > User Records, order by the Active column, and confirm only one user is active.
Take a recent backup of the Dimensions database. If you are hosted, note the current time in case you need to request a restore.
Do not use this routine if a period-end or year-end has crashed or frozen. Contact support instead.
To clear the multi-user flags:
Click System, then Data Utilities, then Clear Multi User Flags. The Multi User Flags window opens.
Next to each area that may have flags set, tick the relevant check boxes.
📌 Note: A transaction may set flags in several areas. For example, an SOP order may set flags in Customer Records, Stock Records, and System. Select all affected areas.
To clear all flags from all modules, tick All Multi User Flags.
Click the green tick icon. A confirmation dialog appears — click OK.
