Central Licencing
Central licencing is a process whereby your licence is uploaded to, and stored, on a network location within your organisations network so that users can download the relevant licence to their PC's rather than registering individually. If your organisation is using central licencing, you will see the following information in the licence check:
An entry in the Central licence location (network) field. This will be a folder path to a folder on your network.
Licence details under the Server Licence section at the bottom of the licence check screen.
If you are using central licencing, please follow the below process to either update your licence or add your new licence to the network location:
Compare the local licence details with the server licence details, being sure to check the Expiry Date.
If you see two different sets of licence details, and your server licence shows the correct details, click the Down Arrow to replace your local details with the new server licence, followed by the Green Tick.
If you see the same details on both licence details and these have expired, select the Edit button.
Enter the new licence details and select Register.
Once you are returned to the Licence Check screen, select the Up Arrow to upload your new licence to your central location.
Make a final check on the Licence Check screen that your local and server licences match and select the Green Tick.
Local Licencing
When using local licencing only, each user must register the own copy of Dimensions using the following process:
Select the Edit button which is at the top, beside the Access logo.
Enter relevant license details and click on Register when finished.
Check the details on the Licence Check screen and select the Green Tick.
Note: Once the new license is loaded logout and log back in and check that there are no obvious changes to the functionality available. If an incorrect licence/unlock is applied it may result in some User Profile settings being disabled if the applied unlock does not allow their use. When the correct unlock is then applied these profile settings will remain disabled and need to be reviewed to ensure that they are correctly reset.Take a careful note of any changes and include them if you need to log a support case and reference this knowledgebase.
