This guide assumes you already have the installation files via FTP. If not, see obtaining install files for Dimensions.
Open the installation folder from the FTP location.
Move the folder to the Desktop.
Unzip the folder and open it.
If using a version of Dimensions below 2.50L, open DEFAULT.HTM with Internet Explorer.
The main installation page opens, from which you can install Accounts, Data Checker, Converter, Import Utility, Administrator, and more.
đ Note: When trying to install Dimensions (if using a version of Dimensions below 2.50L) by selecting âAccountsâ, the following message would appear, âThe Access Dimensions CD requires MicrosoftÂŽ Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later. You can download Internet Explorer for freeâ. This means Dimensions requires a later version of Internet Explorer that is at least version six. To set this up:
Press F12 in Internet Explorer. A developer tools panel appears.
On the Emulation tab, under Mode, change the Document mode to a later version.
Refresh the page. The installation page should now load correctly.
Before installing Access Dimensions, install Data Checker as an admin user. Skipping this step may cause functionality issues that require you to uninstall and reinstall. Once Data Checker is installed, follow these steps:
Click Install Accounts.
Click Run. Another window may appear.
Click Yes if prompted. The installer loads.
Click Next.
Enter the user name and organisation, then click Next.
Choose the install type (Typical or Custom) and click Next.
Select the installation destination and click Next.
Click Install. The installation runs.
Click Finish.
đ Note: if you are a Dimensions 3.0 Hosted customer, you will not need to install Dimensions as it will accessible through Workspace. If you have had a new PC then Citrix Workspace would need to be installed by the following link.
