Install the FMS Connector to Upload Journals

FMS Connector is used in hosting connection to enable the standalone template to the gateway connection.

This guide explains how to install the FMS Connector when using Standalone Journals (where an Add-ins tab appears) within AOI when hosted.

Note: If using Dimensions 3 then the SQL connector would need to be installed first. (The SQL connector is to be installed by consultancy)

  1. Open the Hosted Client Installer folder.

  2. Open the folder for the 32-bit or 64-bit depending on which version of Office you have installed. If your are not sure which bit version is installed, in Word®, Excel® or Outlook®, click File, click Account, click About and this will indicate the bit version.

  3. Double-click the Setup file.

  4. Complete the Install Process, click Next, click Next, click Next, click Yes, click Close.

  5. Navigate to location where install files are located. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Access Applications\Access FMSConnector Service Client.

  6. Open the file FMSConnectorWCFWebClient.dll.config with the file type XML Configuration File.

  7. In Line 6, replace Value = “Dim” to the database name you would like to connect to and then remove the ending e.g. the database name is DIM123a4bc567890deLIVE001, remove LIVE001 from the end.

  8. If connecting to a Financials database then in line 6, replace Dim with Fin.

  9. Navigate to line 46 & 50 and change the Endpoint Address from aoi.accessaCloud.com to aoilive.accessaCloud.com.

  10. In Excel, open the Journal Template.

  11. At the top, on the Add-ins tab, click Journal Import, Setup.

  12. Use the Connection Type drop-down and select Hosted.

  13. In the Domain field, type CLOUD.

  14. Select the Remember My Username and Password option.

  15. Type the Username in the format e.g. DM1234A.Smith.

  16. Type the Password.

  17. If there is only one Dimensions database, select the Always connect to this database option and type the name of the database.

  18. If there are multiple Dimensions databases, select Prompt user for database name. When uploading the journal a window will appear to select the database.

  19. Click OK to save changes.
