ADM - 'You do not have permission to add documents to the specified folder'

This error occurs when the application does not have permission to write to the folder where ADM documents are saved. Ask your IT team to grant the application write permissions to the ADM documents folder. To identify the folder path, attempt a file export from Dimensions: click Debtors > Reports > Records > Customers List > File, then click Print. The file path shown at the bottom of the screen is where Dimensions is trying to save the ADM file. Alternatively, the issue may be with folder permissions inside ADM itself. To check:

  1. Open the ADM Client application.

  2. Log in as a master user.

  3. In the System Control area, identify which group the affected user belongs to.

  4. Click Folder Structure > Manage Structure. Right-click each relevant folder and confirm the group has save permissions in the ADM folder permissions. If not, grant the permission and click Save.

📌 Note: Workspace Document manages permissions differently — groups are used to withdraw access rather than grant it. A user who is a member of a group without access to a folder cannot access it, regardless of permissions in other groups.
