This error occurs when the ODBC name or login details in the journal upload template's connection setup are incorrect. To resolve it:
Open Dimensions but stay on the login screen.
In the bottom right, click More >.
In the ODBC Data Link field, note the correct name of the ODBC connection.
Go back to your standalone journal and at the top, click Add-ins.
Click Journal Import.
Click Setup.
Change ODBC Datasource to use the ODBC Connection name from step 3.
Ensure that the correct credentials are used in the connection.
Click OK.
If you are an Access Financials customer, you can use the Hosting Admin credentials in the Journal Setup section. If the error persists after using the same ODBC connection as Dimensions, check that the ODBC data source bit type matches the version of Excel you are using. To check the Excel bit type, in Excel click File > Account > About Excel and note whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. If Excel is 64-bit, create a separate 64-bit ODBC data source for the Dimensions database. Follow the Create the ODBC link using Windows section in Set up a new ODBC Link, but use the ODBC Data Sources (64-bit) application instead of the 32-bit version. đ Note: This 64-bit ODBC data source cannot be used in Dimensions itself â it only works for the journal uploader template in 64-bit Excel. Then update the journal template setup to use the new 64-bit ODBC data source. Also confirm you have the correct installation files for the FMS Connector. If not, contact support.
