When attempting to make a customer account inactive, the user may be prompted by an error message that says 'This Record is currently being used and cannot be flagged as Inactive'

This may be for several reasons. When a user tries to make a customer account inactive because they no longer use it, the system does several checks in the background.

Check the following items to try and locate the reason for receiving the error message:
Is the account being used as a head office account?
Are there any transactions in the Sales Ledger batch for this Customer?
Are there any transactions in the Sales Order batch for this Customer?
Are there any transactions in the Sales Order batch for another Customer, but delivering to this one?
Are there any outstanding purchase orders, with this customer as the delivery point?
Are there any active project codes with this customer set against it?
If all of the above have been checked and nothing has been found, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
