To follow the steps below and take a backup, you need to have Dimensions Administrator installed on your PC.
If this isn’t the case, please speak to your IT team first and they can provide you with the installation file.
Note: Before taking a backup, make sure that all users are logged out of the database.
Take a backup
Select the database you wish to take a backup.
Click Backup Database then click Add Backup Name.
Give your backup a name then click the green tick icon.
Click Yes or No to the message depending on if you want the backup now.
Click Backup Now then click the green tick icon.
Click Yes to the warning message.
In addition to taking a backup manually, you can schedule a backup to run automatically.
We advise speaking to your IT before setting up a schedule, as backups might interfere with an existing process or affect memory space.
Note: Scheduling backups cannot be done if using SQL Server Express because the SQL Server Agent component isn’t included in those editions.
Schedule a backup
Select a database then click Backup Database.
Add a backup name and then click the green tick icon
Click Schedule Backup.
Add a description for the schedule then add a commencing date.
Select which days the backup schedule is to occur on.
Enter which time the backup takes place.
To verify the authentication of the database, select Verify Backup.
Click the green tick icon.
Select No to the message prompt.
