Please note, we would advise great care is taken when restoring a database as any mistakes (e.g. over writing your LIVE database with the Test is your responsibility). If unsure, then we would advise your IT perform this task for you.

If creating a new database
β
1) Open Dimensions Administrator.
2) Log in using Dimensions login credentials or SA.
3) Click on Restore Database.
4) Name the new Database to be restored in the Database to Restore box option.
5) Choose the file location to restore the new Database from in the Restore backup from box option.
6) Select the file location to restore the new Database from in the Restore backup from drop down menu.
7) Click on Start Restore.

If overwriting an existing database (e.g. refreshing your copy of the test database from a live database backup).

1) Open Dimensions Administrator.
2) Log in using Dimensions login credentials or SA.
3) Click on the database you are overwriting (e.g. Test database), Click on Restore Database.
4) Database to Restore box will have the test database present, tick box for Force restore over existing data.
5) In the Restore backup from box option select <<filename>>
6) Select the file location to restore the new Database from in the Restore backup from drop down menu (e.g. Live database backup file)
7) Click on Start Restore.
