Error - 'The Year End Process could not complete. Transaction (Process ID X) was deadlocked...' when performing a year end

  • The best course of action is to restore to a backup from directly before the process was run.

  • After restoring the Database, it is crucial that nobody else should use Dimensions until the Year End has completed.

  • If this is not possible then the situation will require detailed investigation, and it is advisable to cease processing immediately.

In either case, please raise a new case online including details of the transaction that is referred to in the error message as deadlocked.
