Error - 'The ACD Print job has failed'

This error can be caused by various issues. You can try the following:

  • Enable/Disable the Always Use Printer Set On Crystal Report setting:

  1. Click System, Options, System Control Options, Documents.

  2. Next to Crystal Documents, click the blue arrow.

  3. Select Always Use Printer Set On Crystal Report and change the setting

  • Ensure that the users 32 Bit ODBC connection is correctly setup

  • Ensure that the user is connecting to the internet using a cable rather than wireless.

  • Ensure that the Windows version is compatible with the version of Dimensions.

  • Try selecting a different printer or PDF printer.

  • Modify the Crystal Reports engine used from v11 to v9:

  1. Exit out of Dimensions.

  2. On the computer, click Start.

  3. Search for and click Add or Remove Programs.

  4. Find and select Access Dimensions.

  5. Right-click and select Change. The Installer opens.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Select Modify, click Next. Under Crystal Reports Print Engine there will be Crystal v9 and Crystal v11.

  8. To disable Crystal v11, next to Crystal v11, use the drop-down and select This feature will not be available.

  9. To enable Crystal v9, next to Crystal v9, use the drop-down and select This feature will be installed on local hard drive.

  10. Click Next, Install, Finish.

  11. Log into Dimensions and see if the error persists.


If these steps do not resolve the error or causes more errors to appear reverse the steps above re-enabling Crystal v11 and please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
