Stock - Alternative Items

This feature enables you to define items that are alternatives to a Stock item.
For example:. where an item may be stocked which has been manufactured by different companies, and Customers are to be given a choice of alternatives.
To set up a set of alternative items:
Enter the individual Stock items.
Click on the Alternative Items function button, and the Alternative Items for .... will be displayed.
On this window, you build up the list of Alternative Stock Items.
When in Edit mode you can use the button to display a full list of Stock items from which you can select the items that you wish to include as Alternatives. You can use the shift click and control click functions to select a number of items at a time. You will also have the opportunity to enter the default quantity.
When you have finished, and returned to the Stock record window, a legend Alternative Items will have been added.
Using Alternative items in Orders
When entering Sales or Purchase Orders, if you click on the to display a list of Stock items, any item that has Alternative items will be marked with an function.
Single clicking on an item with Alternatives, and then right clicking on it displays a menu button with Linked Items and Alternative Items. Selecting Alternative Items displays the Alternative items window, from which you can make selections.
You can select an Alternative item by single clicking on it, and you will be returned to the Order Detail window.
