Link Stock Items
This feature enables you to establish a "bundle" of stock items that are normally sold, or bought, together.
For example a PC, where the PC "bundle" consists of a processor, monitor, printer and other accessories.
You can link Stock items to a Stock item and Stock items to a Price item.
But you cannot link Price items to a Price item or Price items to a Stock item.
Dimensions Only - This feature is not available in Dimensions Lite
Set up
To set up a "bundle" where stock items are linked to a stock item:
Create the individual Stock records.
Select the Stock record that is to be the "bundle".
Click on the Linked Items function icon to open the Linked Items for .... window.
Build the list of stock items that make up the "bundle" by pressing Insert to add new items to the list.
When in Insert or Edit mode you can use the search button to display a full list of stock items from which you can select those that you wish to include in the "bundle"’.
You can use Ctrl click to select multiple stock items from the list and Shift click to add them to the linked items list. When using this method, a pop up window will prompt you to enter a quantity. This quantity will be used for all the stock items added using this multiple select method; you can then edit the list to change the quantities if required.
If you tick the option Bundle - do not include main item, no detail line will be generated for the stock record that is the "bundle", only for it's linked items.
Click OK to save the record and return to the stock record window. A legend Linked Items will have been added to the stock record.
To set up a "bundle" where stock items are linked to a Price record:
Create the individual Stock records.
Create the Price record to which the stock items will be linked, the one that will be the "bundle".
Click on the Linked Items function icon on the Price record to open the Linked Items for .... window.
Build the list of stock items that make up the "bundle", by pressing Insert to add new items to the list, in the same way as for a Stock item "bundle".
If you tick the option Bundle - do not include main item, no detail line will be generated for the price record that is the "bundle", only for it's linked items.
Click OK to save the record and return to the price record window. A legend Linked Items will have been added to the price record.
