Transaction 360

Transaction 360

The Transaction 360 on some of the Enquiry windows enables you to view all elements of a Transaction, including Documents and record Enquiry.

Traditionally a Transaction is defined as just an Invoice or just a Receipt.

A Transaction can also be thought of as the complete flow of activity, from placing an Order, the Receipt/Delivery of the goods, Invoice and Payment.

The 360 function enables you to take an 'all round' view of the complete Transaction, and to jump to an associated Record or Transaction, for a more detailed look at that element of the Transaction.

Senior financial users often require the ability to ‘interact’ with the financial accounts, i.e. to start the review from a summary position, and then drill into it to see more detail, and then jump to specific Transactions for a more detailed analysis.

Transaction 360

The starting point for this feature is the transaction Enquiry window. The 360 feature is initiated by selecting a Header or Detail line of a transaction and clicking the 360 icon at the top of the window:

A new window is opened which summarises the key data held against the transaction. The Enquiry window is resized so that the 360 opens to the right of the Enquiry window.

If opened from a Detail line, the 360 window will have the same background colour as set for the detail lines in your Enquiry window (the default is yellow).

The 360 window

As on the Enquiry window:

Where a Record is displayed, the Smart Tag Summary icon is active and will launch the Smart Tag Summary for that record. The Icon is at the top of the window. Alternatively you may right click and select Open Smart Tag from the menu.

Where a Transaction is displayed, for which further information is available, the Enquiry icon is active and will open a further window. The Icon is at the top of the window. Alternatively you may right click and select an option from the menu - Open Enquiry Window or View Allocation Details.

The type of data displayed is determined by the type of transaction selected. The data does not vary between Enquiry windows; that is to say, the same data is displayed for a Sales Order, whether the Transaction 360 is loaded from the Nominal Ledger or from a Sales Ledger Customer account. Therefore if you highlight a Stock Movement, if the Movement is associated with an Order, the Order detail is displayed.

The transaction primary reference is shown at the top of each number, for example the Order Number or Header Reference.
