CIS - HMRC Comms (Check for responses)

HMRC Communications enables the automatic transmission of information to HM Revenue & Customs via the Internet. When HMRC Communications have been set up and activated, you will be able to match and verify your subcontractors from within Access Accounts and also file your CIS300 return.

  • Match and Verify requests are processed via the Request Match/Verify window.

  • The CIS300 return is filed from the CIS 300 option.

Processing by HMRC may take some time, so to avoid you having to remain connected to the Gateway, you can check for responses at a later time.

  • When your request or return has been processed, HMRC will place a response message in your mailbox.

  • Select Check for Responses option and select either Match/Verify Requests or CIS300 Returns.

  • Access Accounts will connect to your mailbox at the Gateway and check your mailbox for response messages that relate to the communication you have selected.

When a response is received it will be displayed in the HMRC Communications - Outstanding Messages window.

The column headings are Class, Timestamp, Action, Correlation ID and status.

  • You can print the list of messages by selecting an output and clicking Print.

  • Select each message in turn and select an action from the icons on the toolbar.

  • No Action - this will clear the action field.

  • Download - the message will be downloaded for viewing.

  • Delete - the message will be deleted from the message box.

  • When you have selected an action for each of the messages, OK will activate the requested process.

  • If you have selected to Download a message, the message will be displayed in the Gateway Response window. The details of the message will be displayed in the lower pane of the window.

  • You should print the message by selecting an output option and clicking Print. The message will not be displayed again so we recommend you print it now.

If you are awaiting for Match/Verify Request responses, on closing the Gateway Response window, the Match/Verify Responses window will open detailing the responses to individual requests.
