In Dimensions, stock locations are managed as stock sub analyses. Sub analyses act as storage locations within individual stock records, letting you track availability across different warehouses or storage facilities. Create a sub analysis (stock location)
Create a stock record.
Click the stock record in the list.
To the right of the Code magnifying glass, click Type and select Sub Analysis.
In the ribbon, Record section, click Sub Analysis.
In the ribbon, Window section, click Insert.
If the warehouse, lane, and row already exist, click the magnifying glass next to the descriptor and select the correct code.
Enter the relevant details on the remaining tabs.
Click Save. A new sub analysis code is generated automatically based on the warehouse, row, and lane.
If the warehouse, lane, or row does not exist, create it first:
Click the magnifying glass next to the relevant descriptor (Warehouse, Lane, or Row).
Click the Edit icon.
Enter the new code and description, then click the Save icon.
Click the new code to select it.
đ Note: Once a stock record has been created and used, its type cannot be changed to sub analysis. Duplicate sub analyses to other stock records Use the duplicate function to copy a sub analysis location to other stock records.
Click Stock Records.
Click a stock record that does not yet have an existing sub analysis matching one on another stock record.
Click Sub Analysis in the ribbon Record section.
Click Duplicate in the ribbon Window section.
At the bottom of the Duplicate window, click the magnifying glass and search for the stock code that has the sub analysis you want to copy.
Double-click the stock record to populate the Stock Code field. A list of sub analyses on that record appears.
Click the sub analysis or multi-select multiple records to copy.
Click the green tick. A dialog appears.
Click Yes.
Repeat for all other stock records that need this sub analysis.
