This can happen when opening a shared excel sheet. Typically, clicking on Create Sheet and choosing the journal type may resolve the problem.
Alternatively, having multiple sheets open, and using Ctrl N to open a new one will result in the upload area being greyed out. It is advisable to open a new sheet from the Start menu.
Windows updates can remove some function Add-Ins. To check if this is the case please follow the below instructions:
In Excel, select File and then Options.
Choose Add-Ins, and then Excel Add-Ins.
Ensure Access Office Integration Excel Functions is ticked.
if it is no visible then then browse to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Access Applications\Access Office Integration (Client) version no
Add the appropriate Function for your version of Excel.
