The Dimensions Application uses the Default Printer on the local PC as the main printer for any action print related.
You can tell Dimensions that for any Barcode Label print type requests to use a specific printer, other than your normal printer.
This must be specified in the CRM.inf file. To check and edit the CRM.inf file for Dimensions versions 2.50b.01 and above:
Navigate to the Dimensions\Accounts folder, typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\Access Applications\Dimensions\Accounts\{versionNo.}
Look for and open the CRM.inf in Notepad. The file contains a series of lines with various text identifiers.
Make a copy of the CRM.inf file before making any changes.
Look for a line with [BARCODE] and click the line. Here is where you need to specify the default Barcode LabelWriter Printer
You should enter the Name of the Barcode LabelWriter Printer exactly as it appears in the Devices and Printers in Control Panel on the local PC. If this is a redirected printer do not include the *example*(redirected, nn)
Close Dimensions completely and then relaunch Dimensions to pick up the new setting.
For Dimensions version 2.50a.01 and before:
Follow steps 1-4 above to get the CRM.inf file in Notepad.
Remove all the text from the CRM.inf file
Enter the following at the beginning of the Notepad window
BARCODE = {BARCODE PRINTER NAME}
Replace {BARCODE PRINTER NAME} with the actual printer name (for example DYMO LabelWriter 450)
Close Dimensions completely and then relaunch Dimensions to pick up the new setting.
