When a HotFix is agreed and released, users will usually be sent a file to apply to Dimensions to fix the reported issue.
The file will be named something similar to lines of ‘Custom_000990.df1’.
Applying the HotFix
Download and save the file to the Computer.
Navigate to where this file has been saved. Usually in the Downloads folder, unless set otherwise.
Right-Click and Copy this file.
Open up the Dimensions files, they will be found somewhere like this on the machine: C:\Program Files (x86)\Access Applications\Dimensions\Accounts\2.51a (depending on the version).
Create a new folder named CustomService – Please note users must name this EXACTLY as mentioned.
Open the CustomService folder.
Paste the earlier copied file into the new folder.
Login to Dimensions as the ’sa’ user or the ’master’ user.
A message will appear asking if the user wants to apply the patch.
Click on Yes to this and the HotFix will be applied.
This will need to be done for all users who need the HotFix applied.
