When creating a new database in Dimensions, the GB Country Record and GBP Currency Record defaults to Non-EU State and Non-EU Currency.
β
In existing databases, you can now edit the GBP Currency Record.
β
The latest upgrade to Dimensions doesn't automatically change the GB Currency Record to a Non-EU State; you need to do this manually.
Go to System
Click on Currencies
Click Find and Enter the Currency Code, or click Next until the currency to be amended is highlighted
Click Edit
Click EU Currency at the top left of the Currency record, and change to Non-EU Currency or vice versa
Click Save
How this will impact ?
When dealing with currency in Dimensions, you can hold up to two different sets of values per record. The home value which is constant and that of 'another currency' for example euro, dollars etc.
When you decide to change a record from dollars to euro ( as an example) the non home values have to clear because what they were in dollars are not converted to euros and no third value is held.
So if in the T/o YDT and Balance are 0 you will not be affected but id there are values it will automatically change those values to 0 which is not recommended
