Chart of Accounts - Create a new currency

  • Build the currency in chart of accounts

Create the currency

  1. On the System tab, in the Currency section of the Ribbon menu, click Currencies

  2. Click Insert

  3. In the top left, select the red text in the box, and select either EU Currency or Non-EU Currency

  4. In the top right, select the red text in the box, and select either Direct Rate or Triangulated Rate

  5. Enter a Currency Symbol

  6. Enter a Nominal Suffix. This must be a three digit number and cannot be used against any other trading currency.

  7. Next to ISO Code, click the magnifying glass icon and double-click the desired code

  8. If required, add a Description

  9. Within the Window section of the Ribbon menu, click Save. A dialog appears asking Do you want to create the chart of accounts for this currency.

  10. Click Yes. This will take you to the Chart of Accounts window

Build the currency in chart of accounts

  1. Change the currency to the new one you just created, and add the categories for the currency

  2. Click Build. This will analyse your accounts and then show a screen for you to select which of the new accounts you wish to create.

  3. To select the default codes for each account, click None highlighted in blue.

  4. Click the green tick icon.

  5. Select Yes or No if you'd like to view and configure the analysis records

    • If you click Yes, review the records and click Save to create the Chart of Accounts for this currency.

    • If you click No, it will create the Chart of Accounts for this currency.
