Currency Transfers
From time to time, there is a need to move monies between bank accounts held in different currencies. Whilst the process of doing so effectively is via a journal, a special journal screen has been provided to do so.
On the Cashbook window, select the Currency Transfers icon (4th from the left).
A new window will open.
Enter a Reference, Date and description of the Transfer.
After entering a description, press the Tab Button on the keyboard.
Tabbing past the description field we can now enter the Nominal Code we intend to Debit and well as the value.
Having entered a Debit (or Credit) press the Tab Key on the keyboard to create a new line.
As the first line was a debit, we will make this line a credit.
Press the Tab Key from the Nominal code box and a window will appear to select the Nominal for the other side of the Journal.
Double-click the required Nominal from the list will return the value to the main window to review the selection.
Enter the balancing home value which will calculate the currency equivalent based on the current exchange rate.
Note: The exchange rate can be changed if required.
Once all of our lines are complete and the home values balance at the bottom of the screen, it can be posted. At the top of the screen click Save. A confirmation window will appear.
Click Yes and the journal will be posted.
