Cash Book Transfers

Cash Book Transfers

Cash Book Transfers is a Nominal Journal entry window for entry of a standard, non VAT Journal.

Complete the header window and, when you tab out of the Description field, the Journal detail window will be displayed.

The minimum information that you need to enter is the Code for the Nominal account and the Value involved. Transfer entries default to Debits, so you must change the menu between Debit and Credit for each line of your voucher, as appropriate.

Depending on whether the Working Periods feature is enabled and on your Security Profile permissions, it may be possible for you to continue to post financial changes, for month end procedures, even after the posting period has been advanced; in this situation the Period becomes a drop-down and you can select the appropriate period.

Notes:

  • All accounts used must be the same currency on all these journals. To transfer from one currency to another, you must use the Currency Transfer function.

  • Unless the Transaction Option to Post Balance to Contra Account is selected, there will not be an entry field for the Contra Account, and you will have to enter at least one Debit detail line and one Credit detail line.

  • If you have not used a Contra Account on the header, the voucher must balance to zero before you can save it.

  • If the option to Batch Transaction is selected, there will be an entry field for the Batch Reference on the header window.
