Enable Smart Tags in Excel

There are many versions of Excel which are still being used by different users. This article with shows how to enable Smart Tags in the following versions:

  • Excel 2016 (Also covers 2010 and 2013)

  • Excel 2007

Excel 2016

  1. Open Excel on the computer required.

  2. In the top left, on the File tab, at the bottom, click Options. The Excel Options window appears.

  3. On the left, click Proofing.

  4. Click AutoCorrect Options. The AutoCorrect... window appears.

  5. On the Smart Tags tab, in the Recognizers section, select all the check boxes which being with Access - ... (e.g. Access – Customers)

  6. Click OK.

  7. Close Excel.

  8. Open Excel to enable the new settings.

  9. Try to put in a Supplier, Customer or Stock code.

Excel 2007

  1. Open Excel on the computer required.

  2. In the top left, click Microsoft Office.

  3. In the bottom left, click Excel Options. The Excel Options window appears.

  4. On the left, click Proofing.

  5. Click AutoCorrect Options. The AutoCorrect... window appears.

  6. On the Smart Tags tab, in the Recognizers section, select all the check boxes which being with Access - ... (e.g. Access – Customers)

  7. Click OK.

  8. Close Excel.

  9. Open Excel to enable the new settings.

  10. Try to put in a Supplier, Customer or Stock code.
