Follow the steps below to set up the data connection for a standalone journal template in Excel, for on-premises Dimensions users.
Select the **Add-ins** tab.
Click **Journal Import**.
From the drop-down, click **Setup**.
Check the connection type is set to **ODBC**. For hosted Dimensions users, select **Hosted** instead. If **Hosted** is not available, install the **FMS connector** first.
Enter the same credentials as used for Dimensions.
Select **Prompt user for database name** if the user requires access to multiple databases, or enter a single database name to always connect to the same one.
