WO Creation Wizard - (Sales Orders) Suggestion Rules
This is the third window of the Works Order Creation Wizard when the Sales Order method has been selected. See New Works Order.
On this window, you should select and enter the rules to be applied when building a list of suggested Works Orders to meet the selected Sales Orders.
Using these rules and the Sales Orders, selected by the application of the Search Criteria entered on the previous window, the wizard will calculate the works orders that will be required.

Suggestion Rules
These rules will be used by the wizard to calculate the works orders that will be required to meet the Sales Orders.
Automatically allocate available components
Available stock will be automatically allocated to the Works Orders generated by the Wizard.
There are 2 additional options. You do not have to select either, you should only select them if they are appropriate to the type of stock you are building:
Always select default BoM sub analysis - This option uses the Sub Analysis that is specified as the default in the BoM for the Assembly item (or First Free if that is the Sub Analysis option selected). Stock will only not be allocated if there is none available in the specified Sub Analysis or First Free.
Always select first serial numbers - If the Stock item is serially numbered, selecting this option will tell the system to select the serial numbers in order (from the first) when allocating the available stock to the generated works orders. If this option is not selected and the component is a serial number, then no stock will be allocated.
Combine sales order requirements
This is an either/or option. You can select to:
Combine sales order requirements to produce consolidated works order or
Create a new works order for each sales order.
If you select to combine the sales order requirements, the system will merge compatible sales orders into a single works order.
When combining, the required by dates on the orders will be considered by the system to ensure that the orders can still be met if they are merged.
You will be prompted to specify the number of days by which the required by dates can differ (a tolerance factor).
If you select to create a new works order for each sales order, you will be permitted to consider fulfilling the order from stock but not from other works orders.
Consider free stock available to meet requirement
Selecting this option will instruct the system to take into account any available free stock when suggesting a quantity to build to fulfil the sales orders.
Remember: the Free Stock calculation is defined in Stock Options and can take into account Allocated Stock; Unallocated Orders and Stock on Order In.
Consider any free WIP to meet requirement
Selecting this option will instruct the system to take into account any potential, unallocated, over-production of existing works orders before suggesting a quantity to build.
Ignore stock holding quantity / Upgrade suggestion to minimum/ maximum stock holding quantity
Instructs the system to increase a works order to bring the stock level to the minimum or maximum stock holding.
Ignore minimum build quantity
The minimum build quantity, as set on the Bill of Materials for a stock item, is the build quantity that ensures that the production process is economically viable. This option enables you to instruct the system to permit a smaller build quantity.
Ignore batch quantity
The batch quantity, as set on the Bill of Materials for a stock item, represents the recommended production quantity of finished products to make efficient use of the materials. This option enables you to instruct the system to permit the production of quantities that are not a multiple of the batch quantity.
