WO Control - Cancel Works Order
Works Orders can only be cancelled if no part of the Works Order has been built.
If the build has commenced, you should use the Build Works Order window to complete the Works Order at the current build level and return excess issued components to stock or write them off.
If no part of the Works Order has been built, any issued components can be returned to stock or written off using the Cancel Works Order facility and the Works Order can be cancelled.
Open the Works Order Control window from the Works Order Control option and use the Works Order Search to locate and display the Works Orders you wish to work with.
Cancel Works Order
Select a top level Works Order in the top pane or a Child works order in the lower pane.
Click the Cancel function.
If no components have been issued to the works order:
You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to cancel the Works Order.
If the Works Order you have selected is a child order (of a higher level order) you will be asked if you wish to create a Request to Purchase, to purchase the item to enable you to complete the parent works order.
If components have been issued to the works order:
The Cancellation of Works Order window will open to enable you to return excess issued components to stock or write them off.
For each component, enter the number of items to be returned to stock and the number of items to be written off.
If you are using Update Stock to Nominal, the Cost Analysis fields will be available and pre-populated with the analysis code from the either the Stock record or from System Control.
Project and Cost Centre codes will be populated if a Project was selected when the stock was issued.
Tick the option if you wish to raise a Request to Purchase for the stock items that would have been built if you had not cancelled the works order.
When you have completed the return and write off information, click OK.
You will be prompted to enter a Date and Description and select the Period and Year for the Stock Movements and Nominal Journals that will be required to process the cancellation.
