use Chart of Accounts Builder
Where there is a full Chart of Accounts (COA) for every currency, when creating a new trading currency you are prompted to build your Chart of Accounts:
'Do You want to create a chart of accounts for this currency?'.
If you reply:
YES - you are taken to the COA Builder
NO - the currency record is saved with blank analyses and nominals, therefore it is necessary to build COA and analysis for the currency as a separate process. Once this is done and defaults created, the trading currency analyses and nominals are updated to the trading currency record automatically (as long as they are flagged as the appropriate defaults).
It is still necessary to enter an exchange rate and, where appropriate, country records. There is no prompt to remind you of this. It is not possible to use the trading currency without an exchange rate.
Where the COA is Home currency, it is necessary to manually create Trading currency SL/PL analyses which update Home Nominals. E.g. USD Sales Analysis nominal updates would be DR USD Sales Control, CR GBP Sales. The Trading Currency will require a manual update of these analyses. An exchange rate will also need to be created.
Where default Euro trading currency has been deleted, all nominals/analyses are removed. The currency symbol on EU country records is also removed. When a new Euro currency record is created (in order to create a Euro COA/Analyses), it is necessary to edit EU country records and replace the EURO currency symbol.
