Configuring your system for VAT on Settlement Discounts (Prompt Payment Discounts - PPD)

If you are installing the feature from a Service Pack, you will need to enable the feature following the instructions below. If you are installing Dimensions 2.51c, the feature is enabled automatically. This feature meets standards required by UK Legislation, and therefore only applies to UK Databases.

If you use customised Crystal Reports, they will need to be manually updated after the Service Pack has been installed and registered in order to comply with the PPD Legislation.

Run the Service Pack Setup, choosing a Complete Setup Type. When the installation finishes, a PDF detailing the changes will open. The PDF can also be found within the Dimensions installation folder, typically %PROGRAMFILES%\Access Applications\Dimensions\Accounts\2.5xn\Dimensions_SP_Mar15.PDF (where x is your Dimensions version and n is the release letter, e.g. 2.51b)

When the Service Pack installation has finished, Logon to each of your databases as the System Administrator or Database Owner and accept several messages regarding the Service Pack and backing up your database.

Log in as a User with access to the System tab.

Navigate to System » Company and select Defaults from the ribbon.

Edit the Home Defaults by amending the VAT Settlement Discount Method so that you are using Adjust Settlement Discount at point of payment.

Restart Dimensions before processing any transactions.
