Ribbon Bar
The Ribbon Bar is a navigation option first introduced to version 2.50c. The Ribbon Bar organises program features into a series of tabs at the top of the window. Each tab contains groups of congruent features.
Ribbon Bar Overview
There is an Application Button which contains access to general program features, such as Change User and Navigation Style. There is also a Minimise button which automatically hides the Ribbon Bar Groups to maximise your screen's working space. When minimised, clicking on a Ribbon Bar Tab will reveal the Groups.
The Ribbon Bar is composed of a collection of Tabs, each containing one or more Groups. Each Group contains one or more icons which can be buttons or drop down lists. Hovering your mouse pointer over any icon gives an Advanced Tooltip which describes the feature and provides Contextual Help. Clicking on an icon activates the selected feature.
Additionally, whenever a record window is the top window, a Context-sensitive tab is displayed. This context tab shows the toolbar options for that particular window. For example, when you select the Debtors tab and then select the Customers icon, the Customers window and the Customer context tab open. Toolbar icons are grouped together using the following logic:
Window group - Functions for moving between records, inserting, editing, deleting, saving and cancelling.
Record group - Functions for opening other windows related to the current record.
Enquiry group - Functions for opening enquiries.
Help - Access for this help system.
