Supplementary Information mode

Supplementary Information mode

When an Enquiry window is opened from the Transactions icon on a Record window, the mode defaults to Supplementary Information and information for the record will be retrieved.

If you have opened the Enquiry window from a different source and in a different mode, click the Supplementary Information icon to change to this mode.

In this mode, the window has three panes: the transaction pane where the Transactions are displayed and two sets of tab cards.

The left hand tab cards show information about the Transaction as a whole.

The right hand tab cards show information about the selected detail line.

Transaction tab cards (left hand)

The tab cards may be different for some Enquiry windows, but most contain the following:

Account

This tab card contains information about the account that relates to the selected transaction.

For Purchase Ledger transactions this will be the Supplier's account; for Sales Ledger transactions this will be the Invoice Customer account; for Stock this will be the Stock Code.

Double clicking the folder icon, or right-clicking in the tab card and selecting Go to Account, will open the record window and temporarily close any open Enquiry windows.

This enables you to view the relevant record window without closing the Enquiry window.

When you have finished with the record window, close it; any previously open Enquiry windows will be re-opened and you will be returned to the Enquiry window you came from. This process is referred to as 'Jumping'.

Limitations when 'Jumping'

If, whilst viewing the record window, you move to another record and try to open an Enquiry window from that record, you may find that the Enquiry has inherited the filter information from the first record. This is because the first Enquiry window was not been closed by the User, just moved into the background by the System. Check the List Definition and refresh the window using the Display icon if necessary.

This tab card contains information about the selected transaction.

To view the transaction Notes, double click on the Notes line, and the Notes will be expanded to fill the tab card. Click the close icon (grey cross) on the expanded field to contract the line.
