Debtors ribbon
The Sales Ledger holds details of your Customers and records your dealings with them, it also provides Sales Analysis information.
The Sales Ledger is used to record Customer Invoices, Receipts, Credit notes and Adjustments so that entering Transactions and tracing them is easy for both company staff and auditors.
The information held can be viewed, printed, and analysed in a wide variety of standard reports, each of which can be extensively customised.
You can enter Sales Accounting information directly (such as externally produced Invoices), but cannot produce Sales Invoices - this requires the use of the Sales Order Processing Module.
You can produce Statements for your Customers.

Before you use the Sales Ledger
Before you can use the Sales Ledger you should ensure that the current VAT rates are entered in the VAT Rates.
If you are going to use Currency, you should also ensure that Trading Currencies and Country records are set up in System Control >> Currency.
It makes sense to enter the Sales and Bank Analysis Codes you wish to use for monitoring your business:
These Codes provide the means of posting 'double entries' to the Nominal Ledger, and it is recommended that the Nominal Chart of Accounts is entered in advance of entering Sales Analysis Codes.
The Analysis Codes also provide you with the means of analysing Sales activity to any extent that you require.
You should enter a Customer Record for each of your Customers who have a current balance on their account, and enter the Transactions which make up that balance.
Then print the Customer Report with all details selected, and the Aged Debt List, to check that all of the details you have entered are correct.
Always enter the Opening Balances 'as at' the Period before the Period in which you will start entering live data, and when you have proved the Opening Balances, run a Period End.
Additional Customer Records and Analysis Codes can be entered at any time.
CRM - Customer Relationship Management
This is an additional module that can be purchased to run on its own or with the other modules.
The module enables you to record and control the activity of your Sales team for all your Prospect Companies, and the Contacts within them.
When a Prospect becomes a Customer, you can change their status with a single click of a button, and continue prospecting activity with them.
