Can't post a payment or receipt to a bank account because the analysis code is not available for selection

Debtor receipts and Creditor payments use analysis codes to update the nominal ledger, and these need to be configured to allow transactions to be posted to the required bank account.

There are two ways to set up analysis records for a bank account.

Option 1 - From the Nominal Account record:

  1. Locate the bank account by going to Financials, Accounts and using the search options available.

  2. Once the account has been selected, click Analysis in the ribbon.

  3. In the resulting window choose either or both of the Bank Analysis types to create

  4. Click the Save icon to confirm the changes.

  5. A new Bank Analysis will have been set up in the selected ledger(s) with the same code as that of the Bank Account in the nominal ledger.

Option 2 - Manual creation:

  1. Go to the relevant ledger (eg. Creditors) and choose Analysis from the ribbon.

  2. Click Insert to begin creating a new record.

  3. Toggle the analysis type from Purch. Analysis (or Sales Analysis) to Bank Analysis.

  4. The Debit and Credit fields will populate with the default Control and Bank accounts as set up in the system. Please note that it is vital these are kept the same way around when changing to prevent issues within the ledgers.

  5. Amend the Debit and/or Credit fields to the required and

  6. Click the Save icon to save the new record.
