Access Currency - Configuring for Dimensions (Access Hosted Clients)

Access Currency is available in Dimensions in order to pull through the most recent currency exchange rates.

This is a free of charge module based on the organisation record, an unlock key is required for Dimensions.

To allow Dimensions users to download currencies there are a few steps to follow:

1. Set the Access Currency permissions

To grant permissions to a user in Access Currency:

  1. Login as the Access Currency Organisation Administrator - https://go.accessaacloud.com

  2. On the black navigation bar, click Members.

  3. Locate the user to be activated and click Actions, Manage Roles.

  4. Change the currency option from No Access to User.

Note: To make another user an administrator of Access Currency change the Organisation Role from User to Administrator.

2. Set the Dimensions permissions

  1. Login to Dimensions as SA or MSTR in order to setup the connection to Access Currency for the appropriate users.

  2. Click System.

  3. Click User Records.

  4. Click Select User.

  5. Click on the Ribbon Menu and select the Access Currency user check box.

  6. Set the Access Currency E-mail address for the selected user.

  7. Click System.

  8. Click User Records.

  9. Click Select User.

  10. Select Email.

  11. Ask the user to Login to Dimensions, once they have entered their Dimensions login details, they will be prompted for the details show below. Dimensions will remember these details once entered.

  12. Click System Control and Rate Maintenance. If the organisation has the currency option unlocked there will be an additional button in the rate maintenance window.

  13. To open the Currency Control window, click Download Rates.

  14. Toggle the rates to update and to pull through the latest rates, click Refresh.

Other options include:

  • Copying the current rates to proposed rate.

  • Edit the proposed rate and effective from date.

  • Edit the most recent rates or create new ones.

  • Also, set it so that the user is prompted to update the rates whenever they log onto their accounts database.

The rates are downloaded from our online web service, which is the same service we use to pull through rates when entering currency expenses.
