There is a security profile setting which allows or prevents users from posting to future periods. It is worth checking whether or not the user has the correct security profile assigned to them before altering their current security profile. If the correct security profile is assigned, then the settings for the security profile can be edited using the instructions below.
Ribbon menu
First, check which security profile is assigned to the user:
Click System.
Click User Records.
Locate the user in the list.
The assigned profile is shown on the right-hand side.
Close the user list, then click Profiles.
Use the Find button or the green arrows to open the profile you noted.
Click the Periods button in the ribbon. The Multi-Period Posting window opens.
Seven types of future posting can be enabled or disabled: Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Nominal Ledger, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Stock Control, and Costing.
Click Edit to enable the tick boxes.
Tick the types of future posting you want to allow.
Enter the number of periods ahead the user can post to. There is also an option to restrict future posting to the current year only.
Classic/module menu

Note the profile assigned to the user account.
Close the user list.
Click System Control > Users > Security Profiles.
Use the Find button or the green arrows to open the profile you noted.
