A rollback occurs when an error during transaction posting means the process did not complete fully. The transaction remains linked to the user who originally processed it — the system is waiting for them to complete the original operation. To identify which transaction is causing the issue:
Open the Nominal Ledger batch (Financials).
Check for any journals listed with an R next to the transaction.
If any are found, log in as the user who processed the journal and attempt to post it from the batch.
If no journals show an R status, repeat steps 1–3 for the recurring journals batch.
If neither batch shows an R status, contact support. They can identify the rollback transactions and help you process them in Dimensions. Wherever possible, rollback issues should be resolved by processing within the software.
📌 Note: Support cannot simply clear rollback transactions — this can cause serious issues with your nominal balances and may lead to further errors during a later year end. If the transactions cannot be processed in Dimensions, support will need a copy of your database. Any resolution must be tested on a database copy before any changes are made to your live data.
