These issues are caused by a Microsoft security update. The steps below require editing the Windows Registry. We recommend these steps are carried out by someone familiar with the Windows Registry. If you need assistance, refer to your IT department. The HKEY_CURRENT_USER changes must be made for the same user who runs Outlook. To resolve the issue and enable Outlook Today to display:
Open the Registry Editor, using either of these methods:
Search for Regedit. Click Yes.
Press Windows Key and R. The Run window appears, enter Regedit. Click OK. Then click Yes.
Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\
16.0 for Office 2016.
15.0 for Office 2013.
14.0 for Office 2010.
12.0 for Office 2007.
Expand Outlook\Security.
Right-click and select New, DWORD (32 bit) Value for.
Note: The bit version of Office is not relevant, always use this option.Rename entry as EnableRoamingFolderHomepages.
Right-click on the name and select Modify.
In the Value Data field, change 0 to 1.
Click OK.
Close Registry Editor using red X in the top-right corner.
Open Outlook to check message doesn’t appear or Outlook Today now displays as expected.
