When a hotfix is released, you will be sent a file to apply to fix the reported issue.
The file will be named something like ‘Custom_000990.df1’.
Apply the hotfix
Download and save the file to the computer.
Open the folder where the file was saved (usually the Downloads folder).
Right-click the file and click Copy.
Open up the Dimensions files, they will be found somewhere like this on the machine: C:\Program Files (x86)\Access Applications\Dimensions\Accounts\2.51a (depending on the version).
Create a new folder named CustomService — the folder must be named exactly as shown.
Open the CustomService folder.
Paste the earlier copied file into the new folder.
Log in to Dimensions as the ’sa’ user or the ’master’ user.
A message will appear asking if the user wants to apply the patch.
Click Yes. The hotfix will be applied.
Repeat these steps for each user who needs the hotfix applied.
