System Options - XML Formats
Found on the System Options Documents tab when Access Accounts is installed, the folder XML Formats within the Accounts Folder, contains the XML Format Templates and Style sheets.
Included are BASDA Templates and Style sheets for POP Orders, SOP Order Confirmations and SOP Invoices. There may be more than one version of each Template or Style sheet per transaction type. Alternative Style sheets or Templates can be added to this folder.
Selecting the XML Formats option displays the XML Formats window. Initially this will be empty, and you should click on the Import Formats toolbar button: This displays the XML Format template window, listing the available templates.
Select the one that you wish to use by clicking on it and clicking on OK.
There will be a delay while the template is processed, and a progress bar will be displayed.
When it is processed, an Import Template Result text window will summarise the import of the template, and the details will be added to the XML Formats window.
Important note: You should Edit the imported format and tick Active to make this XML Format available for selection.
The XML Formats window will display the details taken from the chosen Template and Style sheet.
When in Edit mode, while the cursor is in the default Subject or Message fields, the Tag menu button will be active.
This displays a window listing the available Field tags for this Document: You can click on any of these to add them to either of the fields, and you can enter or change additional text as required.
There is no Insert icon on this window, as Transaction Broker is required for this task.
There is a Duplicate icon, enabling you to duplicate this Format with a different Name, and then edit the details to produce an alternative.
Active This should be ticked to make this XML Format active.
If ticked, you will be able to select XML output for this document on the Customer and Supplier Document tab card. The XML format menu on the document settings window will be available to enable you to change the XML subject and message for the individual Customer or Supplier.
Include Style sheet This should normally be ticked, so that the style sheet is sent with the XML message.
The style sheet enables the recipient to see the message correctly formatted, without it, the message will just be unformatted text.
N.B. If you are using XML, you must ensure that you have set up the ISO Code on the Trading Currencies records, as this is used within the XML messages.
