Profit Reports

These Reports print the profit element of Orders in total, or for each detail line.

Selecting the Profit displays a sub-menu with three reports available: Fast, Transactional, and Adjustment.

Fast Report

This reports on the Profit figures stored in the Stock, Price or Customers Records, it just shows the Sales Value, the Profit and the Margin %. There are no other options.

Clicking on the Stock pull down Menu displays a menu allowing you to choose whether to report on Stock, Price or Customer Records.

Transactional

The System will compare the Actual Sales Price for each Order (or if Analysis Detail is selected, each Detail line), to the Cost Price selected below.

Clicking on the Latest Cost pull down menu will enable you to select to have Profit calculated from;

Average Current FIFO Cost, Average Cost, Latest Cost, or to use Transaction Cost, or Comparable Price Line.

As you make a selection, the default Report Title will change to reflect your selection.

Average Current FIFO Cost

This is based on Sales Price and current FIFO Cost of Stock items.

Current FIFO Cost is the average Cost Price of the current Stock Holding of this item.

This report does not calculate the Actual FIFO Cost of Sale.

Note: The FIFO Profit report works like this:

It considers Sale Value

Then it works out current Stock valuation based on FIFO rules

It divides FIFO valuation by physical Stock quantity to give an average FIFO of Stock in hand

It then uses above figure to calculate the profit on the SOP sale.

i.e. it uses an average of the CURRENT Stock.

Average Cost

This is based on the Sales Price and the Current Average Cost of Stock items held in stock at the time the report is run.

Latest Cost

This is based on the Sale Price and the current Latest Cost of Stock items.

Weighted Cost (use this option for Fixed Weighted Cost)

This is based on the Sales Price and the currently held weighted valuation of stock items.

If you are using Fixed Weighted cost, this will be the weighted valuation from the last time the weighted valuation was recalculated.

The Fixed Weighted values are updated by the periodic running of the Weighted Value Recalculation routine.

You may run this profit report at any time but it may be most appropriate to run it immediately after the recalculation routine.

Transaction Cost

This is based on the Sales Price and the Cost Price used for each individual Transaction Detail line.

If the option to Show Cost Price ... is selected in Stock Options - Records a window pops up for each SOP Transaction Detail line showing the Profit details for this line, based on the default Cost Price.

This can be overwritten if required, and the figure entered will be used for the Profit report instead of the default.

Comparable Price Line

This is based on the comparable Stock Record Price Lines used on each Transaction Detail line.

i.e. if an item is sold at Sale Price Line 3, then the cost is taken from Buy Price Line 3.

Profit on Serialised Stock items is always calculated at Actual Purchase price.

The Profit will only be calculated on Order lines for Stock and Price Records, and for Text items where Costs have been entered.

You may choose the basis for the Profit calculation between:

Order Value Which includes all Orders which have not yet been Invoiced.

The report will be based on the Order details, regardless of the final value which is updated to the Sales ledger. (It may well be changed before being posted).

Invoice Value Which will only include Orders that have been Invoiced.

Show Report with:

You can also enhance the report with:

Landed Cost This will add the Landed Cost elements applied to Stock Sub Analysis records.

Analysis Detail This will add the Transaction Detail Lines.

Full Details This will add all available detail.

Full Descriptions Includes the full Descriptions held.

Notes Includes the Notes fields.

You can also select a detailed search criteria by clicking the Search button or sort the order by clicking on the Sort button.

Adjustment

Selecting this report will immediately display the print destination selection window - there are no other options.

This report shows the Sales and Cost Values, the actual Profit and the Margin for Orders, and then for the amounts on those Orders actually Invoiced and Delivered.

The completed lines in the order will not be displayed or considered in the calculations.

The following fields are printed on the report :

Actual Sales Value (Quantity Invoiced * Actual Sales Price) entered on the Order.

Actual Cost Value (Quantity Delivered * Actual Cost Price) entered on the Order.

Actual Profit (Actual Sales Value - Actual Cost Value) as described above.

Margin % (Profit (as described above) / Actual Sales Value (above)).

Profit on Invoiced Quantity Sales Value as described for Actual Sales Value, but the Cost Price calculated as the Quantity Invoiced rather than the quantity Delivered.

Profit on Delivered Quantity Sales Value calculated as ((Quantity Delivered * Unit Sales Value) - Cost Price) calculated as for Actual Cost Price.

Potential Profit Assumes that the total Sale Price and total Cost Price entered in the Order is achieved, to show total profit when the Order is fully Delivered and Invoiced.

Note: the Profit on each item can also be displayed while entering SOP Orders, if the option to Show Cost Price is set in Stock Options.

Mail Order Schedule

This report lists sales orders that contain credit card information and have been processed as mail order transactions.

This report helps to identify monies receivable from the Credit Card Companies and also commissions that will be charged by the Credit Card Companies.
