Each Stock record window includes stock quantities. These values are updated automatically as transactions are entered and the buttons enable you to drill down to examine that quantity in greater detail.

The order in which these quantities are displayed will vary to reflect the definition of Free Stock selected in Stock Options.

For example: if the definition of Free Stock is Physical - Allocated Stock, these two quantities will be displayed together, above Free, to signify that they are included in the calculation. The other quantities will be displayed below Free.

When using Works Order Processing, the layout will still reflect the System definition of Free stock (as above) but the quantities section will also be displayed differently when the stock item is an Assembly type or a Component type stock item.

The summary drill-down buttons will not be available for the Allocated Stock, Unallocated Orders or Order In quantities.

A summary drill-down button will be available alongside the Free stock value, this will open the Free Stock window.

The Free Stock window will include the summary drill-down buttons that have been removed from the main stock record window.

The Free Stock window will also include stock information about your Works Orders.

If the Stock item is an Assembly, the label 'Physical' will appear as a menu button with two options: Physical / Availability.

When Physical is selected, the summary drill-down button will open a window showing a summary of the stock movements for Current year, Next year and Last year.

When Availability is selected, the summary drill-down button displays the Check Availability window for the stock record.

Opened from the Free stock summary drill-down button, this window includes:

Physical the actual quantity held in stock.

Outbound Commitments

SOP Delivered not updated - orders for stock that are being processed and where the delivery notes have been printed but not updated.

SOP Allocated - the quantity of the stock allocated to Sales Orders. The summary drill-down opens an enquiry window showing the details of the Sales orders that make up this total.

SOP Unallocated - the quantity of Stock on undelivered Sales Orders that has not been allocated or could not be allocated because Stock was not available.

WO - Component Allocated - quantity of stock that has been allocated to Works Orders as components.

WO - Component Unallocated - the quantity of stock required by Works Orders that has not yet been allocated.

Total Outbound - a total of the outbound commitments for the stock item.

Inbound Commitments

WO - WIP Associated to SOP - this is the quantity of the stock item that is currently work-in-progress on existing Works Orders and that has been associated with a Sales Order.

WO - Free WIP - this is the quantity of the stock item that is currently work-in-progress on existing Works Orders and that will be available to be put into stock when complete.

POP Order in - the total quantity of this Stock item on outstanding Purchase Orders.

Total Inbound - a total of the inbound commitments for the stock item.

Projected Stock - this is Physical - Outbound commitments + Inbound commitments, as indicated by the layout of the window.

The Free stock calculation is displayed to the right-hand side of the window so that it is clear which quantities make up this figure.

Free stock is defined in Stock Options.

Free = Physical - (Allocated Stock + Unallocated Stock) + Order In

Free = Physical - (Allocated Stock + Unallocated Stock)

Free = Physical - Allocated Stock + Order In

Free = Physical - Allocated Stock

Allocated stock is stock allocated to both Sales Orders and Works Orders.

Unallocated stock is stock required by both outstanding Sales Orders and Works Orders, but not yet allocated.

On Order In is undelivered stock from outstanding Purchase Orders and WIP that will be available for stock when the Works Orders are complete.
