Stock

Each stock item can have up to 10 Selling Prices. These are set in the Selling Price Table for the stock item and are termed Price Lines.

The prices can be defined as fixed, uplifted or discounted or defined by quantity ordered.

Examples:

You could create two price lines to make a distinction between Wholesale and Retail prices.

To provide an incentive to place larger orders, enter price lines for different quantity ranges.

Each Customer can be allocated a specific price line by selecting it in the Terms window for that Customer. The prices from the selected price line will then be used on sales orders entered for the Customer.

Customer

The price line selected in the Terms for the Customer (called Price Key on the Customer record) will determine which price line from stock records will be using when orders are entered.

Also part of the Customer Terms are the standard discounts that can be created for the Customer:

Terms Discounts:

Line Discount is deducted from the selling price on each detail line on an individual basis.

Total Discount is deducted from the order total, after any line discount has been deducted.

Settlement Discount is discount allowed for payment of an invoice within the number of days specified.

Price Matrix

The Price Matrix allows unique selling prices to be entered for every combination of Customer and Stock record.

A field from the Customer record and one from the Stock record are used to create a matrix of prices.

When the Customer places an order for a stock item, the nominated fields are used to search the matrix for a price.

If one is found, this is returned to the order, otherwise the appropriate selling price line will be used.

The Price Matrix can be driven by the Code, Sort Key or any of the User Sort keys 1 to 3 from the Customer and Stock records. However, once you have selected the fields for the matrix they cannot be changed except by deleting all the elements and starting again.

Advance Price Matrix

Like the standard Price Matrix, unique selling prices can be entered for every combination of Customer and stock record.

It is also driven by the Code, Sort Key or User Sort keys 1 to 3 from the Customer and Stock records.

However, because you will be creating distinct price lists, you are not limited to one pairing of these values.

All the active price lists will be searched for criteria that matches the Customer and the stock item they are ordering.
