Forecast Cash In
The Credit Control module keeps track of how long every invoice has been outstanding and calculates the average debtor days for each of your Customers. This information enables the production of a report to forecast the cash flow into your company.
The report starts with your actual bank balance and then projects your future bank balance, based on outstanding transactions and the expected number of days that will pass before payment is received.
You can forecast daily, weekly, monthly or as far into the future as you require. You can also select a break point for subtotal.
This option enables you to print a forecast analysis for incoming cash.
Running the report
From the Credit Control menu, select Reports and then Forecast Cash In. This will display an output selection window, with options to change the format of the report.
Show Report Based on - You should select the basis of the report before making any other selections.
Forecast By Days: From this drop-down menu you can select to forecast by Days, Weeks, or Months.
Selection from this menu will change the Report Title.
Enter the number of days, weeks or months the forecast should cover.
Select whether the report is based on Anticipated Date or Due Date.
When a transactions is posted, these dates are calculated using the Customer Terms and stored on the transaction.
Both these dates can be changed using the Amend Customer Dates feature.
This report uses the dates held on the transactions.
Report Title - You can change the title of the report but you should select the period base for the report before doing this.
Print the following - Select the transaction types to be included in the report:
Sales Transactions (Invoices, Credit Notes and Adjustments),
Sales Orders and Credit Notes,
Pro Forma,
Estimates,
Progress Claims.
To include Batched Transactions, make sure the Batched option is ticked.
Use the Simple Search option to refine the report by entering criteria that must be met by the records and transactions included in the forecast.
Select the output for the report: Screen, Printer or File.
You can select a printer by pressing the Select Printer button.
Click Print to produce the report. The report includes the following information:
Opening bank balance,
Account Code and Name,
The transaction type and reference;
Anticipated Date or Due Date depending on the report option you have selected;
Gross value;
Forecast balance.
Subtotalling will be by days, weeks or months (as selected) and the forecast will cover a period from the system date forward by the number of days, weeks or months you have entered.
The forecast for Estimates will include Pipeline entries and the value will reduced by the percentage probability of achieving the estimate
Sales Orders and Credit Notes will be the outstanding value only.
Simple Search
The Simple Search option enables you to create a forecast based on accounts that match specific criteria. You can save any searches you use so that you can retrieve them and use them again.
To enter search criteria, click the Simple Search icon on the window toolbar.
Searches can be saved using the Save Search icon on the Simple Search window.
Saved searches can be opened by pressing the Select Search icon on the window toolbar.
