There are two ways to post period 13 nominal year end adjustments if you are running a 12 month Financial Year.
β
Option 1:
β
When you period end Nominal Ledger Period 12 (as opposed to Year End), this will automatically open up a hidden period 13 in the Nominal Ledger, allowing you to post journals for year end adjustments.
This period is only available for Nominal Ledger so you would not be able to post Sales or Purchase Ledger transactions into it.
β
Option 2:
β
Change your Financial Year to be 13 Periods.
This would default to thinking you are using a 4/4/5 week financial period and would change the start dates of each period accordingly. You can however change the start dates as needed (perhaps leaving Period 13 From/To your last day in your financial year).
This way would mean that Sales and Purchase Ledger could access that period, it also means that any transactions dated the last day in the financial year would default to period 13 so if not wanting those in Period 13, means diligence to make sure the correct period selected for posting.
Can you advise how to post year end adjustments in Period 13?
