Define a Nominal Account as a bank or cash account

For accounts to show up in the Cash Book function in Dimensions, it will be necessary to flag the required Nominal Accounts as either bank accounts or cash accounts.

If using standard/default Nominal Accounts, follow these steps:

Ribbon style menus:

  1. Select Financials from the main menu

  2. Click on Accounts

  3. Highlight the required account using the selection pane on the right

  4. Click the Bank icon from the menu to mark the account as a bank account, or

  5. Click the Cash icon from the menu to mark the account as a cash account


Module menus/Classic style menus:

  1. Select Nominal Ledger from the navigation bar

  2. Select Records, Accounts

  3. Highlight the required account using the selection pane on the right

  4. Click the Bank icon from the menu to mark the account as a bank account, or

  5. Click the Cash icon from the menu to mark the account as a cash account


If using Advanced Nominal Accounts, then do the following …

Ribbon style menus:

  1. Select Financials from the main menu

  2. Click on Chart of Accounts

  3. Highlight the required account from the structured list (expand the labels as required to drill down)

  4. Click the Detail icon in the menu bar

  5. Click the Edit button

  6. Tick the Bank or Cash check-box

  7. Click OK (Save)


Module menus/Classic style menus:

  1. Select Nominal Ledger from the navigation bar

  2. Select Categories, Chart of Accounts

  3. Highlight the required account from the structured list (expand the labels as required to drill down)

  4. Click the Detail icon in the menu bar

  5. Click the Edit button

  6. Tick the Bank or Cash check-box

  7. Click OK (Save)
