Snapshot Validation does not agree

Aged Debtors/Creditors <> Control Accounts

Mail Merge does not work

Snapshot Validation does not agree

  • When did the validation last agree?

  • Is the amount recognisable?

  • Have any Nominal Journals been posted to the Control Accounts?

  • Do all Analysis Codes update the Control Accounts and are they set up the correct way round?

  • Is there more than 1 Control Account for each currency? The Snapshot validation routine only recognises the default one for each currency.

  • Print the Aged Report (include future periods if relevant) and compare this to the Trial Balance for the same period – does this agree to the Snapshot – Validation figures?

  • If this is also incorrect then please refer to Aged Report below.

Aged Debtors/Creditors do not agree with the Control Account(s)

  • Does the Trial Balance agree?

  • When did the Aged Report and Control Account last agree? Date/Period No?

  • Are there any chevrons on the Aged Report? If there are this indicates that the balance is not the sum of the outstanding transactions, or that transactions have incorrect allocation pointers.

  • Are any search criteria selected for the Aged Report?

  • Is the period of the Aged Report the same as the Trial Balance?

  • If transactions have been posted to future periods, is the Multiple Period option selected when running the Aged Report?

  • Is the discrepancy amount recognisable?

  • Are there any Audit Numbers missing on either the Sales, Purchase or Nominal Ledger Audit reports?

  • Are all Analysis Codes set up to post one side to the Control Account(s), and are all set up the correct way round?

  • Have any Nominal Journals been posted to the Control Account(s)? The easiest way to check this is by doing a Detailed Trial Balance with the option to suppress other ledgers selected.

  • Check that the total of the Sales/Purchase Ledger All Transactions Report for the given period agrees to the total of the Control Account(s) transactions for the same period.

  • Check that the Nominal Ledger Turnover on the Control Account(s) agrees to the sum of the transactions.

  • Are any accounts set up as 'Any Currency'? This may mean that individual currency Control Accounts will not agree, but the total of all of them will agree with the total Aged Debtors/Creditors.

  • Does the Trial Balance figure for the Control Account(s) Agree to the balance on the Nominal Ledger Record?

Mail Merge Does Not Work

Uninstalling Access Office Integration and/or other applications may prevent mail merge letters in Dimensions from working. This is because the uninstall has removed a file or files on which Dimensions relies.

How to Fix:

You should run an original copy of Installer. You are taken automatically to the Application Maintenance window. Select the Repair option and then the Next button to continue the installation.
