The Balance Sheet Enquiry screen

An overview of the Balance Sheet Enquiry screen, explaining how assets and liabilities are displayed by major heading and how key financial positions such as net assets and capital employed are calculated.

Updated over a week ago

All our Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Not For Profit Summary enquiries share the same screens and the same functionality for consistency purposes.
For more information on the layout and the functionality of the screen please refer to The Profit and Loss Summary Enquiry screen article.

The purpose of the balance sheet is to provide a snapshot of your company's financials position as at a specified point of time.

The treatment of a nominal account within the balance sheet as an asset or liability account is determined by the Major Heading assigned to each nominal account.

You can only see nominal accounts which are assigned to a balance sheet type major heading. These are major heading 7 to major heading 12.

As default, the Year and the Period on the Advanced Filter panel will default to the current year and the current working or open period in your database and you can remove any default filters and add in your own.
