Create and edit notes for transactions on all enquiries and record lists

A guide to adding and editing notes against transactions and records using the Notes tab within the Action Panel.

You can store extra information against the transaction you select which you can record in the Notes tab within the Action Panel.

This article takes you through accessing the Notes tab from the Sales Transactions Enquiry, but you can follow the steps below for other enquiries and record lists too, like for example the Sales Analysis Transactions or the Purchase Transactions enquiries.

Note: You cannot access the Notes tab from the O/S Sales Orders enquiry.

Access and create a new note from the menu options

  1. Click the Module then click on the Option of your choice from the left-hand side menu.
    Note: All transactions or records are displayed. You can narrow down you search using advanced filter. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the 3 small horizontal lines and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

  2. Select the checkbox in front of a transaction or record you wish to add notes for.
    Note: The Action Panel automatically opens out from the right-hand side of the screen.

  3. Click on the Notes tab.

  4. Add your notes in the textbox.

  5. To add more information including time and date, click on the date, email and time icon.

  6. Click Save Notes.

Example:

  1. Click Debtors then click Sales Transactions.
    Note: All sales transactions are displayed. You can narrow down you search using advanced filter. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the 3 small horizontal lines and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

  2. Select the checkbox in front of a transaction or record you wish to add notes for.
    Note: The Action Panel automatically opens out from the right-hand side of the screen.

  3. Click on the Notes tab.

  4. Add your notes in the textbox.

  5. To add more information including time and date, click on the date, email and time icon.

  6. Click Save Notes.

Access the Notes tab when starting your journey on a record

  3. Click on the Notes tab.

  4. Add your notes in the textbox.

  5. To add more information including time and date, click on the date, email and time icon.

  6. Click Save Notes.

Example:

  1. Click Debtors then click Customers.

Edit an existing note

  1. Click the Module then click on the Option of your choice from the left-hand side menu.

  2. Select the checkbox in front of a transaction or record you wish to add notes for.
    Note: The Action Panel automatically opens out from the right-hand side of the screen.

  3. Click on the Notes tab, then click into the text field.

  4. Add your changes in the textbox.

  5. To add more information including time and date, click on the date, email and time icon.

  6. Click Save Notes.

Example:

  5. Add your changes in the textbox.

  7. Click Save Notes.
