Submit a VAT return in Dimensions after installing Access Connect

When Access Connect is installed, the value added tax (VAT) return feature in Dimensions is disabled.

You will see this error: The application was unable to insert into the table, SYS_TAX_AUDIT, successfully. The error retrieved from the server was :
37000:[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Because you have a Dimensions integration with Access Digital Tax, you can no longer do VAT returns in dimensions. Please use Access Digital Tax for your VAT returns 37000:[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]The transaction ended in the trigger. The batch has been aborted

Complete your VAT return in Access Digital Tax through the bridging method (Excel file upload) or using the Access Connect feature. If needed, you can use the temporary workaround below to run the VAT return in Dimensions — check the figures and references very carefully to protect data integrity.

  1. Click the System tab.

  2. In the VAT section, click VAT Return, then click VAT Return.

  3. Click the Print icon.

  4. Ensure the correct periods are selected.

  5. Change the VAT Reference to ADT-<Date>. For example, 'ADT-260419'.

📌 Note: Ensure the VAT reference contains 'ADT-' to help identify the return.
